Is this legal and what can be done about it
This job we have to go to mandatory unpaid meets every other Monday in uniform to pickup our checks and talk about work related issues and if we don’t come or we don’t show up dressed in our uniform they send you home and withhold your checks.

If you are hourly employees, you MUST be paid for all time spent at meetings: there is no such thing as an unpaid meeting for hourly employees. While the employer can certanly mandate that you attend a meeting, they must pay you for doing so--the law is very clear that hourly employees must be paid for all time spent working, and anything required by the employer for its purposes is considered "work." If you are being required to go to meetings and not being paid for them, contact your state department of labor to file a complaint.
