What are my sister’s rights to our late mother’s life insurance proceeds?
My mother passed away back 5 years ago. On the life insurance policy, I was the only beneficiary on the account because my mother didn’t ant my sister to touch it until I saw fit. If her name wasn’t on the account and there was no legal Will, can she touch it now?

If there is a named beneficiary for the policy, the life insurance proceeds go only to that beneficiary, are not part of the estate, are not probated, and are not distributed by will (if there is one) or intestate succession (if no will); the beneficiary is the only person who receives them.
