I am so sorry for your los. It sounds as if his estate may qualify for a small estate proceeding in Iowa and that his only asset - the truck - may have to be sold to satisfy the bills. Your sister can negotiate the bills down to pay off some amount so that there is enough from the sale of the truck. But if there is not then the estate is insolvent. Just make sure that if notice to creditors is required your sister does what is needed. Good luck.
