Under the laws of all states in this country, an employer is not responsible for paying an employee wages for work missed due to injury caused to the employee while the employee was on vacation. The only exception is if the employer has an employee employer handbook where an employee has certain amount of sick time, vacation time and/or personal time.

In such a situation the injured employee could use such vested time to be paid for not being at work due to the vacation injury he or she sustained.
